This class is for beginners and those wanting to brush up on the basic foundations of yoga. It is also perfect for those days when you just need things to be a little simple.
This style is the basic style that all yoga stems from. Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your body, mind and spirit. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body- especially the main channels, the spine- so that energy can flow freely.
This class is designed for a middle of the day get-a-way. It focuses on relaxation and gentle stretching. This class is 60 minutes long.
These are physical yoga styles like Ashtanga, but not the primary Ashtanga series. For those who want a more physical workout, these styles offers a fast-paced series of sequential poses beginning with sun salutations. Students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breath. These physical styles were developed to build strength, flexibility, and stamina. These are our most athletic styles.
The yoga of awareness, consists of simple yoga techniques that can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter his or her age or physical ability. It is a complete science that includes breath (pranayama), yoga posture (asana), sound, chanting (mantra) and meditation. It is designed to provide you with the experience of your hightes conscieousness through the raising of your Kundalini. With Kundalini Yoga you can build a healthy body, develop a balanced mind, make contact with your inner wisdom as well as open the door so that you can exceed your full potential.
This style of Pilates was developed by former professional dancer Moira Merrithew, with input from sports medicine professionals, STOTT PILATES is a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to Joseph Pilates' original exercise method. Its exercises safely deliver optimal strength, flexibility and endurance, without adding bulk. This stress-relieving method is performed on a mat at Marbles. STOTT PILATES incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and performance enhancement. .
This community yoga class is a pay what you can class. There is a sliding scale for cash or you can bring something to give to the teacher for trade as a thank you for teaching. Individual class cards and Marbles unlimited cards gladly honored.
If yoga were a smorgasbord, restorative postures would most definitely be at the dessert table. These soothing and well-supported poses offer us the opportunity to linger quietly for a few moments and savor the simple sweetness of life.
In an ideal world every asana would feel restorative. But those that fall into the special category of restorative poses have a particular ability to leave us nourished and well rested. These postures are usually deeply supported by blankets, blocks, or other props and are held for several minutes at a time.
